Make Your Trade Show Booth A Success
By Adriana Noton
Trade shows are a jumble of various businesses that are all competing for customers at a single venue on a single date. In knowing this, there are a few tips that you should take the time to consider before you even begin to set up at a trade show in order to make your banner stand and trade show booth a success.
First of all, take the time to develop a detailed plan about how you plan on setting up your booth to attract the visitor’s eye. You should start with a beginners mind set. Take the time to attend other trade shows. Look for information that will help you with your booth as well as any expert advice that you can find. You should also attend any workshops that relate to the booth that you are seeking to set up.
Next, send out pre-show mailings as well as phone invitations. This should be directed at everyone that will be present at the event. You should begin to send these out no later than a month before the show.
You must also take the time to invest in quality. Be sure that you are using exhibit materials that have easy to read graphics. Be sure that it is key-word specific as well as having large and bold headline graphics. Your potential customers are just browsing and you only have a few seconds to grab their attention. These visitors should be able to have a clear idea of what your booth is about and what types of products or services that you are trying to sell.
Be sure that you are utilizing your whole team to reach your objectives. Your most qualified and knowledgeable staff should present your product. You should take the time to role play with these people so that they will be able to get the practice that they are going to need for the real thing. This will help them gain confidence to answer just about any question as well as address any problem that may arise.
Always smile and never pounce on the visitors. When you are aggressive with your prospective clients they may just hightail it and run. Give them time to check out your booth. Answer any questions that they may have and offer them additional information that they may request. Be prepared to provide samples as needed.
Finally, be sure that you have either brochures or fliers to hand out to the visitors to your booth. They should contain all the information that is pertinent to your business. They should also include such things as the days and hours of operation. Consider placing a coupon for a free service or product just for stopping by your booth. Also consider having other items such as pens and magnets that have your company logo as well as your contact information. All of these will catch your visitor’s attention and keep it even after the show.
Making your trade show experience a success does not have to be rocket science. Taking the time to study all the tips above will help your booth be a success each and every time.
